Full-Time Quality Control Case Study: Jacobs Engineering
Find Out How We Assisted Jacobs Engineering With Our Full Time Quality Control Services
When Jacobs Engineering reached out to RCS for a proposal of full-time quality control services in 2019, it was the start of a multi-year long relationship in order to provide an efficient, functional and affordable roof assembly on the Bannister Federal Building.
Work commenced on the project in May of 2019. The purpose of RCS performing Full Time Quality Control services for the duration of this project was to be the middleman between the Owner and the Contractor, to act as the liaison on-site to ensure the roofing materials are coming out and going back down in the specified manner per construction documents.
Although RCS is not on-site to provide means and methods so to speak, RCS is on-site to provide a third-party non-biased perspective on the daily activities via daily report logs to the Owner and Contractor representatives. The daily report describes in detail the work that has taken place during the day previous. These daily logs describe the work in detail via verbiage and via photos to provide a full image of the days work to those not on-site. RCS provides any deviations from the specifications and / or drawings within the notes of the daily logs.
While the project was active, RCS had their senior Full Time Quality Control personnel essentially living in the area to ensure daily on-site inspections would not be missed.
Upon completion of the 590,000 square foot roof replacement in December 2021, RCS ended the contract with Jacobs Engineering to ensure the project closed out with all documentation in place, all payments completed, and all final daily logs wrapped up with completed punch list items ensuring a new warranted roof assembly for the Federal Building.
