At the request of the Facility Director, Mr. John Meyers, a comprehensive visual assessment for several buildings at the Atlanta Motor Speedway was conducted to as certain the catalyst for repeated interior leakage. These buildings included Champions, East Turn and Weaver Towers One through Three. The buildings are located along the perimeters of the racetrack and provide luxury sky box seating for race fans and/or operations for event staff of NASCAR, ESPN and Car Owners/Corporate Sponsor luxury suites.
Three local roofing contractors participated in the bidding process for repairs and replacement, as specified. An award was made with the execution of the specified work being completed prior to the fall race of 2003. The work included repairs to Mechanically Attached and Fully Adhered EPDM flexible membrane roofing systems and total removal and replacement involving a self adhered modified bitumen membrane roofing system. The remaining work involved repairs to in-place bituminous roofing systems.
The Owner has requested that we perform yearly inspections of the facility as an effort to obtain an extension of the service life of the in-place roofing systems until eventual replacement is required.
